The Wedding Party

Christine Jew, Maid of Honour

Kate met Christine in residence at Queen’s University, where they became fast friends.  Both finding themselves in Toronto after university, they continued to bond, usually over a great steak accompanied by even better conversation!

Kate soon discovered that Christine is a rare gem – a friend who excels in all areas.  She is fun, friendly, and funny, but also insightful, supportive, and loyal.

Through all of life’s ups and downs, Christine has remained someone that Kate can turn to for help without judgement.  As a bonus, she also acts as Kate’s second closet and on-call restaurant and travel guidebook!

James Gurunlian, Best Man

James and John at the Calgary Stampede

James has known John all his life, largely due to the fact that he is his younger brother.

James and John have been close brothers for life and have gone to school together, travelled Canada coast to coast and hiked countless trails/mountains.

When John broke his wrist playing soccer 2 weeks before a lifelong dream to hike the West Coast Trail, James made it possible to continue by pulling extra weight so they could still go.

Theresa Jahn, Usher

Kate met Theresa at naturopathic college, where they shared a lot of laughs over a lot of stress!

Kate was lucky enough to have Theresa living close by for many years, always up for a walk, a tea, and a chat.  Kate knew she was a true lifelong friend when they still managed to get along while Theresa temporarily moved into Kate’s small apartment during a crazy period for both of them!

Over the years, Kate has discovered that Theresa is wise beyond her years and has been an invaluable sounding board for challenges, questions, and problems of all sorts!

Jason Lee-Ying, Usher

John met Jason in Grade 9 Geography where they quickly learned they had a shared passion for hockey and the Toronto Maple Leafs.  Unfortunately the Leafs haven’t been able to do much since then, but John and Jason’s friendship has grown.

They have travelled the globe (Europe, Vermont, Los Cabos, and more.), enjoyed many of life’s fine moments and been there for each other through thick and thin.
